Big Hands Colvin Band

Like Marc Cohn, Lyle Lovett and Bonnie Raitt, Big Hands Colvin's music is so much more than one kind of music; a little bit blues, a little bit country, and a healthy dose of soul, The Big Hands Colvin Band's sound is both fresh and familiar. With Jesse Savage on guitar, Tyrone Hall on stand-up bass, and Randall Ireland on percussion, Big Hands takes on standards like " The Beat Goes On, " shares regrets on tracks like "I Didn't Know," and takes us on a trip back in time with the poignant "This Town." Check them out on www.danbighandscolvin.com and myspace.com/bighandscolvin, and don’t you dare miss this band at Luna!
Saturday, May 17th PM, 7:30 PM

The Unbelievably Perfect Combination of Knitters Plus Celtic Players!

The Celtic Players are a Vashon institution that just happens to find its home at Café Luna each Third Sunday of the month. And, it’s an extra plus that this is entertainment that you can enjoy whether you pay attention, or not! So, grab a beer and have a great time with these fun-loving folk! At least a dozen of the 70 Celtic musicians show up to play most of the merry melodies (mostly Irish jigs, reels, and polkas) from memory. Beginners are welcome; staying with the beat is the only requirement. Get a head start with the 250 tunes on their website, home.comcast.net/~saustin98/lark.
And, if fabulous music wasn’t enough….. knitters of all abilities are invited to drop in and bring their projects to the Café. Knit, schmooze, and learn from each other, while the Celtic Players work their understated and very merry music. What a fabulous combination! For more information about the knitting, contact David Guion, 463-1680.
By the way…..
“The only vestige of organization among the men who gather every Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. is an agreement to meet weekly at that time. Other than that agreement, the group has no formal organization or agenda.”
So, if you’re a man who likes great conversation with other smart, engaging men, stop by the Café on Tuesdays at about 10 AM for ManTalk, discussions of current political currents to complaining about gas prices, taxes, and whatever else comes up, all men are invited to participate.
And….
Don’t forget to check out Luna’s walls for sumptuous, multi-media prints from the students at The Harbor School.
It’s not just kid art; it’s great art!
Join us in our continued support of stellar performers as they present the original, the dynamic, and the diverse.
Our goal is to provide you with the best entertainment in Vashon’s most relaxed environment,
so, let us know how we’re doing!
